Hello and a very warm welcome to the 1st Great Paxton and the Offords Scout Group web site. Our web site is designed to keep current members, visitors, parents and friends up to date on our acheivements and activities.
We have been running a weekly Beaver Colony and Cub Pack for many years now, offering a safe and relaxed place for young children to meet and have fun, whilst learning.
The Scouting Association provides adventurous activities and personal developement opportunities for around 400 thousand young people aged between 6 and 25 years of age.
Personal development means promoting the physical, intellectual, social and well-being of the individual, thus helping them achieve their full potential.
In our Scout groups, we believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing', when they are given responsibility, work as a team and think for themselves.
If you think scouting is just about boys, tents and woggles, then why not come along to one of our meetings, and we might just change your mind. With over 60 activity badges divided across our Beaver and Cub Scouts group, there is plenty of hands on learning and fun to be had by all.
As you may already know, the Scouting movement is a voluntry organisation and as such we need to raise funds to be able to run our sessions each week - So we are asking every one who views this site to sign up for 'Easy Fundraising' and help us raise vital cash that we desparately need.
